These Military Dog Tags are same as those used by the U.S. Military, we purchase our tag blanks from the same U.S. Company our military does.  They have the crimped edge we are all familiar with.  Military Dog Tags are also available from us in the Stainless Steel Matte (dull grey), this what our Armed Forces use as standard issue.  Our military chose this finish to prevent the ID tags from reflecting in the sunlight and alerting their foes as to their location.

We also offer S/S Bright and S/S Black (hot painted) along with Solid Brass, Solid Copper and Anodized Aluminum - These tag blanks are also bought from the same U.S. Company as the Authentic Matte Tags that are Military issue.  ID Tags other than the Matte Finish are NOT standard military issue and are offered for more variety and personalization for our customers.

U.S. Military Dog Tags have been embossed (raised letters) by our military for many decades because they are much easier to read, as the "stamped" tags of the past.  We offer custom embossing resulting in letters that are raised from the surface, just like the numbers on your credit cards.  Customization options include many "special characters on your keyboard" that are not used by our our Armed Forces, again we offer this for more variety and personalization to our customers.

Silencers are used to "quieten" the metal tags when worn by our soldiers, so as to not give away their position in the field, by making "clinking noises."  The Black Rubber Silencers are the only color the U.S. Military uses, we offer many other colors simply for customers to choose from, to provide for more individual tastes and needs.
